Three friends. Three used Nissans.
One ridiculous challenge.

Tour Detour isn’t a car commercial — it’s a dare wrapped in a road trip. Three Nissan dealers, each with zero off-road experience, bought high-mileage Nissans with CVT transmissions for under $10,000. Then they set off across 1,500 miles of the American West to see if these often-criticized vehicles could survive the journey.

The Journey
Seven episodes. One epic misadventure.

From land-speed antics in the Bonneville Salt Flats to sketchy switchbacks in Colorado, each stop pushed the cars — and friendships — to the limit. The route includes river crossings, desert dunes, mountain passes, and more than a few roadside repairs. Whether they conquered the terrain or fell apart trying, the story was always worth watching.

The Cast, the Cars, and the Chaos

Each host chose their weapon: a scrappy Nissan Juke, a comfy 2014 Murano, and a newer Murano they thought would be “safe.” Along the way, they discovered just how wrong — or right — they were.

Featuring three longtime friends:

Tim Pohanka – the skeptic who questions everything
Jason Cole – the gambler who bets big on his pick
Chris Lenckosz – the planner turned reluctant safety officer This is part road trip, part experiment, and all about challenging expectations — especially when it comes to the CVT.
